Double Speak
One phone, a room full of friends, and over 30,000 words. Hold it up and describe the word without saying it, pass it like a hot potato before the timer goes off, or find out which of your friends is only pretending to know the secret word.
Party word games for the room.
Four Party Games, One Phone
Double Speak turns the phone in your pocket into a party. Pick a game, pick a category, and pass it round: no cards to shuffle, no score sheet, no setup beyond typing a few names.
Play the classic: hold the phone sideways and describe the word on screen without saying it. Tilt it toward you when your friends get it, away to pass, and see how many you can get in a minute. Or split into two teams for Hot Potato, find the faker in Imposter, or play all three rounds of describe, one word, and act it out.
There are over 30,000 words in 24 categories, from Animals and Food to Harry Potter, Star Wars, Dungeon Crawler Carl and U.S. Presidents. Pick one, narrow it right down, or play "Any word". Words you've seen don't come back until the rest have had a turn, even after you close the app. And if your group has its own in-jokes, add your own list: the app even writes the request to give to an AI chat for you.
Four Ways to Play
Every game and every word is in the free app — nothing to unlock.
Double Speak
Hold the phone sideways and describe the word on screen without saying it. Tilt it toward you when your friends guess it, away from you to pass. Get as many as you can in 30, 60 or 90 seconds, then see every word you got and every one you passed.
Hot Potato
Two teams, one phone. Describe the word for your team, and when they get it, tilt and hand the phone to the other team. Whoever is holding it when the minute runs out gives the other team a point. The clock is hidden: listen to the ticking speed up. First to 5, 7 or 10 points wins.
Imposter
Pass the phone round. Everyone sees the same secret word, except the imposter, who sees only a hint of the category (or nothing, if you want it harder). Take turns giving a one-word clue, then vote. A caught imposter can still win by guessing the word. For 3 to 12 players, with one or two imposters.
Three Rounds
Two teams, one pile of words, three rounds. First describe it, then give just one word, then act it out with no talking at all. It's the same words every round, so by round three everyone knows them, and it gets fast and funny. Scores add up over all three.
What It Does
Six real, shipped features — not roadmap copy.
Over 30,000 Words
24 categories, from Animals, Food and Jobs to Movies, Books, TV Shows, Video Games, History and Science, each split into smaller lists: play all of Books or just Percy Jackson. Or play "Any word" for everything.
Find Any Category
Search every category and list by name: "star" finds Star Wars, Star Trek, Stars and Sky and the sports stars. Tap one to play it.
No Repeats
Words you've played go to the back of the line, so you won't see them again until the rest of the category has had a turn. It remembers even after you close the app. "Start the words over" in Settings resets it.
Your Own Words, With an AI's Help
Add a category for your group's in-jokes, a show you love, or this week's spelling words. Type a topic and the app writes the request for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any AI chat. Paste the reply back and it shows up under Custom. You can also choose a .yaml file.
Tilt or Tap
Tilt the phone toward you for a correct guess and away to pass, or tap the Got it and Pass buttons. Tilting backwards feels wrong? Swap the directions in Settings. Sounds count you in and warn you when time's nearly up, and a buzz confirms each guess.
Light or Dark
Light, dark or follow the phone, with colors from your wallpaper on Android 12 and up. And there's never an ad on screen while you play.
From Couch to Game in Under a Minute
No accounts, no cards, nothing to set up. Open Double Speak, pick a game, and you're playing.
Pick a Game
Double Speak, Hot Potato, Imposter or Three Rounds. Each card shows the game's shield and says how it's played; tap it to start.
Pick the Words
Any word, a whole category like Movies, or one list inside it like Star Wars. Or search for one.
Add the Players
Type names for Imposter, name your teams for Hot Potato and Three Rounds, or just play. The app remembers names for next time.
Pass It Round
The phone tells everyone what to do next: who goes first, whose card it is, when to vote, and who's winning.
A Look Inside
Real screenshots, captured on an Android emulator — not mockups. Menus are shown without the ad banner; games never have one.
Built for the Room, Not the Screen
Four Games, No Extras to Buy
Every game and every word is in the free app. No packs to unlock, no "premium categories", no timer that makes you wait.
Words That Don't Repeat
Over 30,000 words, and the ones you've seen wait until the rest have had a turn, even across days of play. Nobody shouts "we had that one!"
Your Words, Too
Your family's in-jokes, your class's vocabulary, your favorite show: add it as a category in a minute, with an AI chat doing the writing.
Nothing Leaves Your Phone
No account, no sign-up. The games work offline; your words, scores and names stay on the phone. The only thing that goes online is the ad banner on the menus that keeps the app free.
Offline, private, and your own words: all in Settings.
Double Speak is free, with a small banner ad on the menus and no account needed. If it's made your game night, you can also support future TRK Studios apps directly:
