This Privacy Policy describes how TRK Studios ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Double Speak mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details. We do not operate any servers that receive your data, and the games work offline. The App's only use of the internet is to show ads:
- Ads. The App shows an AdMob banner ad on its menu screens. No ad is shown while a game is being played. Google's advertising SDK may collect and process your device's advertising identifier and related data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Where required, a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) is shown before ads load, and you can change your choice later under Settings › Ads › Privacy settings.
2. What Stays on Your Device
Everything you put into the App stays inside it and is never uploaded:
- Players, teams and settings. Player and team names (remembered so you don't have to type them again), your settings, and the list of words you've already played, which keeps words from repeating.
- Your own categories. Custom word categories you add are saved as files inside the App. If you choose a .yaml file to import, it is read once through Android's file picker, which gives the App access to that one file only.
- The AI request. When you add custom words, the App writes a request you can give to an AI chat. It is only shown on screen: Copy puts it on your clipboard and Share hands it to the app you pick. The App never sends it anywhere itself, and the AI chat you paste it into has its own privacy terms. The App reads your clipboard only when you tap to paste the reply.
- Motion sensor. Tilting to guess uses the phone's motion sensor, which needs no permission. It is only read while a game is on screen, and the readings are never stored.
3. How We Use Information
We don't receive any information from the App. Advertising data is used by Google to serve and measure ads as described in their policy. We do not collect analytics about how you use the App.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your information. The only third party the App communicates with is Google, for ads, acting under its own privacy terms. When you share the AI request, it goes only to the app you pick in Android's share menu.
5. Data Retention
Names, settings, played-word history and custom categories are kept inside the App until you delete them or uninstall the App. "Start the words over" in Settings clears the played-word history, and a custom category can be deleted at any time.
6. Permissions
The App uses Internet access, for ads only. The advertising SDK also adds network-state access and the advertising ID. The App does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage permissions.
7. Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App itself collects nothing; because it shows ads on its menus, younger children should play with a parent's or guardian's involvement.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in the future (for example, if new features requiring data collection are added), this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
